Still was hot, but, better today.

I used to be able to just gear up and go, regardless of the weather. Hot didn't used to make a difference. I just figured I'd be doing a bit of sweating. But, those days are gone! Now, I have got to plan my day when it's hot. Extra hydration, better choice of clothes, stay in the shade, take breaks!! MAN! When did I become my grandfather!?!?!

ANY-hoo, I did manage a couple more hours today. I was trying to see what I need to do in the heat. My best bet? Stay out of it!

Here's the take:



I was paying more attention to me than hunting today but still, not too terrible.



Interesting to flip a plug and see this fall out. LOL

Did manage a small surprise. Not all that toasted either.




Just about the time I was feeling "well done" again, I heard thunder.
At least, I thought it was thunder. Maybe it was just my ride showing up? LOL

Ya know this lil bugger was buried and entangled in quite a bit of tree roots!
Wasn't prepared for a battle with tree roots at the end of this day! LOL WHEW!

Oh yeah, it most assuredly did! LOL But, I did seem to walk over a lot of dimes.

I also skipped a lot of borderline signals. Too hot to dig iffys today.

But, you're right, that's a LOT of digging. Remember, not every target was a keeper.

Was a little too hot for me, lol. I took the dog for a walk at a waterfall a few miles away and took the detector and gear with me. I half heartedly swung it around in the pool under the fall a little bit, but wasn't really into it. Congrats on getting out and Happy 4th to you!

Not likely, since the only thing on it that's magnetic is the rusted spring. LOL

Yeah, it really was too hot. Borderline today (Fri) too. But, I have a need for a walk and to celebrate the freedom we still have, I'll probably do a lil 4th of July walking around fireworks. What could be better? Finding treasure on the 4th!

I thought I would take example from you today and went to a long and hard hunted park nearby. I got some stuff everyone missed or stuff they found but buried again, lol! A lot of lead, most that didn't have much patina except a silver dollar sized piece that pretended it WAS a dollar on the ATP's screen and looked like it was leftovers from a pouring ladle. Was flat on one side and slightly rounded on the other.
Also got a horseshoe and a cap that I thought was from an Indian motorcycle but I found out it was from a " DB Smith Indian backpack fire pump".

HH Chug and Red 2 more days to Go And We Just found a new Sandy Beach on the River that We Have not Been to yet!!!

Well, the back of the hammer thingy is about the same as the front. Just has no design and there's a rusted old spring wound around a peg. But, it's not real. Unless they made flintlocks with non-magnetic metals.

Well, if it's the elbow that's causing problems. You could try one of those "tennis elbow" bands. Or, better yet, convert your detector to a belt version. Where you can wear the box on a belt and just swing the pole and coil. A WHOLE lot lighter!
