Is there a way to determine the age of a stirrup? This was found in Culpeper, so I am just curious if it could be war era. Thanks.

At that time most were made by local blacksmiths and used by civilians. Yours looks to be from that era but to say it was or wasn't used by one side or the other during the civil war might be a bit of a stretch.
