Stolen Half dollars

I asked at the Grocery store the other day if they had any half dollars. Girl told me she was told not to take any half dollars because they were stolen!!!!.... Hummmmm wonder who got hit?

I heard one on Jay Leno the other night. It ws a news story from a paper. It read (As close as I can reemmber)

"POlice were called to the Circle K at blah blah and blah yesterday on a call about a suspicious coin being given to the cahier. It turned out to be a quarter".

I guess that was when the new state quarters first started coming out, and someone didn't think it was real. LOL

Could also be the manager/owner is telling them to say that so they do not have to mess with them. A lot of stores do not like to accept them.
