Stone "Face" found on beach
Hi there.? Found this "face" rock staring up at me last weekend while shell/rock collecting on the beach at Common Fence Point in Portsmouth, R.I.? There are barnacles where the nose and mouth might be.? It seems to be made up of various types of stones and has many cuts/scratches/peck marks that may have been carved into it.? Dimensions: 6 in. long, 3 1/2 in. wide and thickness is about 2 inches.? Weight is approx. 3 lbs.? Seems really nuts that this might just be a freak of nature from rolling around in the ocean....especially since it looks so much like a human face.? Any thoughts?? I did some research and learned that hundreds of Native American artifacts have been found nearby.? Any info. provided would be great.? Heidi E. Boynton Beach, FL? ?
