stored XLT question

got my XLT out today after a 4 yr storage rest, and it wouldn't go past the first screen of the ground balance screen and that just flickers. Was stored with out batteries and new ones installed. Passes the voltage check ok. Any ideas Thanks

I would check the new batteries....I just had a set that caused trouble and they read full voltage but could not take any load and ran flat in a radio in a couple of hours.
Is your pinpoint switch rattling around/loose ? Or locked forward.
Clean the two contact spikes in the case and check that one has not pressed backward from being hit when the battery pack is slipped in. If that has happened you may see a few tiny pinpricks in the metal of the battery holder where arching has occured.
