Hi Marticus, I take it you live on or near the Gold Coast, where I am. Don't often see another Aussie on here. I cant say I know anything about that shipwreck at Straddie, but I will have a look and see what I can find out. It's been a fair while since I was over there, but have done some detecting on the islands. I just had a read about it, I take it you have read the book on the Stradbroke island wreck, Just wondered, it mentioned it could be near jumpinpin bar, before it was formed. Well, that was formed when they blew up the cargo of dynamite salvaged of the Cambus Wallace which ran aground there. Guess there is a chance that the remains of that ship could have been washed out due to the massive amount of water that must have washed through there. They reckon there could still be some cases of whisky still buried in the dunes there that was hidden by looters.

Im from sydney actually. However i like to research all the states and areas of different stories and legends. And hopefully one day get there. I am planning a trip to straddie this year. As i think i have found a good search area. However reports from the 1900-1940's suggest the remains are only psrt of it. About 30ft in total. And i dont think much is left today but some old timbers. But they believe it could have been a 200ft ship. If so. What happened to the cargo. I have read about the stories of the wiskey which was found far north of the islsnd. And the walking stick head found on morton. Possibly got there from local aboriginal tradings. Yea i have the book and dvds. And havr been associating with greg Jeffries alot on the matter. However i believe he was looking in the wrong area. And equipment at the time would have not been as advanced as todays. So im hopping to make a new discovery or just add to the mystery lol.
