strange African idol??

I found this idol in the attic eaves of an old abandoned house I've been searching out in our back field . It's six inches tall and seems to be made out of bronze or brass . Looks like a lady giving birth . Any ideas of the country of origin and age ? Thanks !!

Quite a find.

Perhaps, casted from wax as some African cultures were known for. I guess African because of the ankle and arm bracelets. Here's a pic.
