No great finds of old silver in this post, but something quite unusual happened. Chalk it up to whatever you want, but I'm not making this s**t up!
I was a little bored on Friday, so I went to the library to get a winemaking book.
I saw a book on Pepsi memorabilia on a different shelf, stopped and flipped through it, coming to a page with bottles from the 40's. I looked at them and thought that those looked cool.

I put it back on the shelf. Before checking out, I went to the new arrival section and saw Les Stroud's book on survival, and decided to take it home. Later on that day, I sat in the back yard with my books and opened Stroud's. It opened to the page on orienteering with a flat plastic compass. I looked it over, because last year I found an old metal military compass, and was interested in that section.

The next morning, I met up with Etrac007, Lookn4Seated, and Olderactor in the woods. After working a grove area for a while, I picked a spot to hit in the woods. A few minutes into the woods, I looked down and saw this.

I picked it up and thought "Cool, it still works, too. Funny I was just reading about these..."
I stuck it in my bag and carried on. Olderactor had found his SLQ around this time, and I was busy looking for her sister. About 15-20 feet away, what do I find half submerged in the dirt?

It didn't register about the Pepsi Book until I was on my way home.
I stopped back at the library and checked the book out so I could photo the page and look through it. I've always been a Pepsi drinker anyway.
The more I thought about it, the weirder it seemed. I was a little hesitant to post this, so I hesitated until today. I though what the heck, I'll throw it up here anyway for anyone who is interested. Even if you think it was just a coincidence, I still got a working compass and a cool old Pepsi bottle out of the deal.
Thanks for checking out my wierd experience!
