Strange Inscription

My backyard was a garbage dump 100 years ago. I have found various artifacts and coins from that period. This one has me stumped. This disk is about 2" in diameter made probably of brass/bronze. The inscriptions look like hieroglyphics. The closest I come to identifying it is a middle eastern ancient language. Anyone know what this is?
