Cancer?

Welcome to the forum. Looks like the poor rock developed a tumor.

The small red stones look like garnet?

I thought Garnet too. But the shape is super different. Could it all possibly be different Sphalerites? Red, orange, black, and some Chalcopyrite? I am researching like crazy. Im just hoping its not Cinnabar.

Sphalerite and most likely gemmy crystals of the same. I have a couple of samples of the mineral simular to the bronze looking portion of your specimen but have only seen the gemmy stuff at rock and mineral shows. Its a neat mineral :) and you have a great specimen.
Ah and welcome to the Forum.

Ruby Jack Sphalerite, and some Chalcopyrite. I found a super similar mineral online and its from an old mine in close to Picher Oklahoma . No longer in service for 65 years. its pretty close to the specimen that I have. I love research. lol

Thank you for all the welcomes.

Red stones look like garnet to me and the yellow colored mineral appears to be pyrite. Not an expert though...
