Strange Ring ?

I found this strange ring in the attic of the old abandoned house I've been searching . I think it's brass or bronze . it seems too cumbersome to be worn as a ring because it sticks out so far , it's hard to get something out of your pocket while wearing it . My girlfriend thinks it's to heavy to be a scarf slider. Maybe it is some sort of ceremonial item ? Any ideas ?

I would go with napkin ring Was it that shiney when you found it? could be gold or have gold in it.

It barely fits on that person's pinky finger...couldn't be a napkin holder. Any napkin holder I've seen has been like 2 or 3 inches wide...

I don't know...there's an old lady at my church that wears huge jewelery with polished tumbled rocks...I mean like two or three inches long...rings...
so, you just never know. It could be a ring...

I think its a key to a hidden safe...when you put the bird into the lock(possibly shaped like a nest?) ..... it unlocks a treasure ....start tearing up the floor boards! Watch for death traps ,booby traps etc .....remember Goonies?
