Strange Ring

Can anyone fill me in on this ring? I have never seen it in person so these pictures aren't mine, but the owner would like to know more about it. Heavily worn so no hallmarks are visible if there were any. I lean toward some type of western theme (maybe lassos + cattle brands?). Could be way off. Material unknown. Can't find anything like it on the web, probably lack the vocabulary.

Those aren't brands. Looks more like some other type of symbols.

I'm thinking it's made of brass, might be gold though, I'd get a jeweler to test it.
No idea what the symbols represent, probably from the 1960s.

I think Icewing has it. In the first photo the symbol next to the finger looks like the one for Libra.

Cool post mcl! I have to admit I've never paid a lot of attention to the Zodiac craze but this is an interesting piece. Lately I find myself wondering if there is
some astral influence that makes folks divisive and combatant world wide! The more troubling notion is knowing what the traditional remedy for that is.
