Strange Rock

We found this on one of our last MD'ing trips. Maybe some one can ID it for me ? Looks like white crystals on sandstone......At first I thought it was a fossil, but I think it maybe quartz ?

yeah that's what I thought too at first. but I don't think it's a fossil...... I'll try to take a picture in better light. I didn't realize it was so dark...
