Went up a creek toward an old Indian settlement but had little time to hunt. Dug a modern mattick with the whole handle rotted out only leaving the nails in the eye that held it in place, probably a few decades on the ground. Then I dug this iron piece. I'm thinking it's some sort of and end to a leather strap. It has teeth on opening as if to dig into leather or cloth. What is it?
