I found this stromatolite at Ft. Hood TX back in the 80's. It has turned to pure flint (chert) and could be slabbed for flint knapping. A stromatolite is a fossilized bacterial colony that formed on the ocean shore. This one is cretaceous in age. You can see the wheel/donut shape on the top. They still exist in W. Aus. Gary
