Stronger than a pull tab

I'm drawing a blank on what this is and I don't mean the nickel, wiseguys. I'm sure I've seen it before but can't remember what is was used for. It is very smooth and super hard and I cannot bend it with my bare hands.

That's the first thing that came to my mind too.

It is made to carry wild game (ducks or geese, etc). Small end is tied to a piece of rawhide and the other end holds the bird. Don't remember exactly how it is attached to the bird but I have seen several of them used by bird hunters. JIM

I would have to agree with Omni on the zipper piece.
And, by the way, the one on the left is a nickel.
