Found this yesterday. It's kind of yellow/white from oxidation. Didn't know if there's anyway to tell what it was in this condition. And this item, which my guess would be sewing machine part, but that's just a wild guess. Both found at 1870 church site

Just wanted to share this little pencil or charcoal piece I found with my knife. It still leaves a decent mark . I just didn't want to create a new thread for just it .

Looks like an expanded jacketed soft point rifle bullet. Maybe a Nosler partition bullet.
