Stumped on this collectible toy ring.

I have had this toy ring for many years now and have not been able to identify the character face on it. Can anyone help me put a name to this ring?

Maybe somebody's vision of a mythological goddess.

There are a few clues on the ring. I would like to point out a few of the clues that I see. The ribbon like thing behind the head looks to be in the shape of an "M". The maker went to the trouble of putting bulging eyes on the face. The hair style almost looks like Addams family Morticia or Wednesday but it has the curl at the end. Looks more like Marlo Thomas "That Girl". Am I missing anything?

You may be on to something creskol. My sister just emailed me and she thinks it may be a Celtic knockoff of some sort.

Looks to be of Greek origin.
The bulging eyes would be the power of Medusa. All who gaze at Medusa would be forever turned into stone. The background "M" as you say would be for Medusa. Perseus conquest of Medusa. He cut off her head, and the blood that dropped from the wound produced the innumerable serpents that infest Africa. That could explain the lack of serpents on the ring. The head on the ring could represent the severed head of the Medusa mounted on Minerva's shield. In Milton's Paradise Lost. Medusa is guarding the doorway to the world of the dead, she prevents the living from entering.

This story seem to fit the ring. If anyone has anything to add or has another idea on what this ring is, I would love to read about it.
