I think they set up well, and used special lighting to enhance effects of the different colors.

Yes, these were taken in a sewer... in Moscow.

EnglishRussia is among my favorite websites.
Pictures just like Russia.... they seem to go on forever !
 

Most look like frozen sewage and Iron oxides. The photography is superb!

Some pretty good photography there. That would be an interesting place to see in real
life. At least once, anyway. Being a sewer you might not want to go back. LOL
