1 1/16 by 3/4 bird point found by me in Omaha Georgia in a field by the Chattahoochee River literary on the Georgia/Alabama line (found on Georgia side). The only point I ever found in that particular field, a friend of mine found a good size preform blade there as well on the sameday. Cool thing about that field at the time it was littered with pottery shards but only in the middle on a small hill. I'm not sure if this is considered a Dalton or a Santa Fe.*

If I found it I. Texas it would be an Early Triangle. Not very fancy name for old and nice artifacts.

I'd say it's a Santa Fe. Very nice.

Thanks Tdog, I've always thought Dalton or Santa Fe, even though I thought Santa Fe's were more delicate made.

Santa Fe and Tallahassee types are found here in E. Central Alabama too. From what I've seen, Santa Fe, a non-serrated point, is the more delicate than the serrated Tallahassee.

That's what I've heard, this one is still a mystery to me because the base is ground. It was found in a area with alot of pottery shards.

Those are always a mystery to me. My area has to many triangle shaped points. I have many that an I.D is hard to come by. Nice find! Chattahoochie is a very neat area. Lots of shist in those mountains.
