spent 3 hours walking a almost grass grown field. still found a couple nice ones!
the small brown one is a sublet ferry, the other a kirk? maybe snapped base even?

Tree some great looking finds. Nice material and patina. Like the brown and tan. Good to see you having another good hunt.

Luv that last one....Drill or graver?????Congrats on a great hunt..

I was thinking the last one is a big drill with the point broke off.
ya Tn_mtns ive not had time to hunt in a few weeks.
this may be the last from this field this year if they don't re-plow it soon.
Ill have to go back to my shelters. :)

Nice finds, but just for your information, there is no such this as a "Snapped Base Point", I don't care what Overstreets says. It's just a point with a damaged base.

Ive heard that before as well, Ive often thought about that too.. it makes me wonder though why the thick base would break and not the narrow point, I guess dropped maybe?
I would think if its hafted and prying, the tip would break instead.
this particular one has some thinning strikes up the base like small flutes
I wonder if those were there when it broke or put there after to reuse it?
they seem to go high up to me if the base were all there. I dont know but have often wondered about these types. this is the 1st one Ive really had that was mostly all there.
Im glad I finally got one to ponder on.
thx for the input
