Sundays are normally family day for me. However, the wife had a Partylite/Tastefully Simple party to go to and she decided to take our daughter along. I only had a few hours so I had to stay close to home. I decided on the old store that I've hunted at least 50 tames over the last 3 years. This site in the past has given up a bunch of relics, bottles, clad, wheaties, 1 IH penny, 1 buffalo nickel and my 1 and only silver coin, a war nickel. When I got there, I discovered about 80% of the lot was overgrown. I started hunting in the shade and started finding pulltabs and beer cans. After my 3rd or 4th pull tab, I noticed my front right pocket area getting uncomfortably warm. After a second or two I realized OH CRAP! I'VE GOT MY SPARE 9 VOLT BATTERY IN THE SAME POCKET AS MY KEYS!!!! I remember reading a post about this a while back and now I understand.
After I relocated the battery, I got back to hunting. The finds were not that great, but as always, I had a good time. I found $.14 in clad, a shotgun shell end, a schick razor holder, a live 38 special round, a schrader tire valve stem, the remains of a pocket knife and a whatsit. I will post it in the What Is It? Forum with more info.
