The late potatoes come out now and we had to be the first on the sites. This worked perfect with t-shirt weather in the afternoon after we had the first frost in the morning. At the end of the first row i saw signs of a deep plough. Gravel on top where i've never seen gravel before. Unfortunately our deep plough is usually as deep as the roman foundations and it looked like the finds layer was turned under. Very little finds, but what came up now was first class.

Decorated Samian pottery and wall tile frags show the high status of this site. Left on top of the big roof tile shard is part of the base of a 16thC. jug.

Lots of nice saves. Love the coins. Congrats

Beautiful coins, congratulations! :icon_thumleft:

Pardon my ignorance, but are the first series of photos under water? I see at east 2 50 BMG bullets and some other contemporary projectiles and cartridge casings. Then I see some handmade nails and some ancient coins of the realm. What A2 said!!!

Congrats on finding what's probably the best variety you can hope for!

I know what you mean by seeing those natural gravel layers!

Congrats on the better looking Romans.

Is it the right one you need an ID?
I can see it was a CONSTANTINVS PF AVG (Obv)
soli invicto comiti (Rev) T F in field - PTR Mint.

Those romans are indeed very sharp, congrats

Sweet coin finds.

Thanks all! :occasion14:

First pics are outside the house on my wash table...blue table cloth.
The .50 bullets are all over here. We're in the entry lane of the bombers approaching the realm in WWII. These and the driving band fragments of artillery shells make always the majority of the finds on a hunt.

Sorry I didn't see this until now Lu. Nice score. Would this have just been a house where you found the high dollar wall tile? Or is this part of a Villa? Just HAD to get those silvers in huh? Hope your farmer loves his deep plow.Good luck.
