I'm moving to Sunset Beach NC tomorrow.I'm a newbe at this, so I have a few questions. The beach has not seen any sun bathers all winter, so does the ocean wash up things and buries it.It seams to me that for dry sand hunting one should wait untill the sun bathers come back.Any help is appreciatad,Thanks:skullflag:

Don't wait. I was looking in the mid to upper sand over this weekend in Delaware and found 50 keeper items. The waves and wind move lots of stuff. Thursday the spot I found the stuff was barren. There was a big tide and I found everything in a 10' x 100' or so area. Then nothing anywhere else.

I know in my younger days, when diving a wreak site one day and coming back a few day's later and things had moved/changed.The Graveyard of the Atlantic can take or give her treasures.

Love that beach I live in eastern ky we go to sunset beach nc every year. Don't know why but I always did good just left of the pier high in the dry sand in the blanket line. Found a silver pandora braclet this past summer.
Back to your question the beach is always changing go for it and good luck!
