Super Thick Flat Button?

Was hunting this morning and found this about 10 inches down. It is thicker then any other flat button I have seen before. If anyone can tell what it is then that would be great. The last picture is a quarter with the button for size.

I have a gut feeling that this is not a button but a seal of some sort. Then again, my gut ain't always right! Hopefully some more knowledgeable people will help ID it.

Maybe a different version of a dress-hem weight?
