Months ago I purchased a surf pi pro, not knowing that two different plates mounting on it (a light type for beach and the heavy for immersion both 9,5"). I was convinced that the light type was all right for diving.
Tried days ago in the sea, immediately notated that I have to make pressure on the md to hold it down. Ugly trouble! Besides the volume was half setted, with the hood I didn't ear well the signals.
How to resolve the problem? Where find the neutral coil? Is not easy. I have thought about replacing the coil with one 8" coil of a my "dead" Fisher Impulse, that is of the same type (concentric).
Strange hybrid, but I have resolved the problem and it works very well, for diving the 8" coil is excellent in presence of stones and it has a best pinpointing that the original 9,5", practically an unpublished version of surf PI PRO. I’ve also mounted it on the Impulse staff. You can use other concentric coils. It work very well!
