Hi Everyone,
I found what appears to be a suspender latch with Hermes embossed on it. Kinda makes some sense but the profile is out of rotation for a suspender part. Maybe a belt buckle? It's made from thin metal. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I would guess a sash buckle, since it's so thin . . .

And horizontal... Parson is right on. Horizontal suspenders would be called a belt.
