Happy New Year everyone!
Yesterday I hunted in the woods next to a creek for about an hour. It was snowing but the ground
wasn't frozen-only my hands were. My best find was this thin brass buckle that I assume was
for suspenders. It's only the second whole one I have found-the first one is engraved with initials
and the year 1856.
I would date this one around the same? any comments welcomed. Happy Hunting wherever and whenever you can.:coffee2:

It is indeed a suspender buckle. That style will generally date from the late 1870's to around the late 1890's. I'm no expert of course but I've dug and collected them for many, many years. Always a nice when you find one.

Yep, nice find. I have dug quite a few of those too. Always a treat.
Well done,
MM
