Swastika Button/Pin

I detected a couple of hours in drizzle rain yesterday at an older site that has produced a few military items in the past. I found a handful of modern coins and a small button face that upon cleaning off the mud revealed a swastika. I'm not sure if this is German/WWII related, but I guess it could be. Ideas?
