Being that we are experiencing an early spring here in the North East, it was possible to get some nice detecting time in this morning.

We hit up another part of site that turned up some early late 18th early 19th century relics over the summer. A few musketballs and a draped bust sent were mixed amongst various metal thingamagigs last time we were out there.

Today we found 3 buttons. One plain brass button, one lead coat button and one brass button that just might be a continental navy button. Don't have a button book, but I think I found it on the Web. If you're interested, check out this web page http://www.picketpost.com/rev.htm scroll down to rev war and look at the continental navy/rhode island navy button. I'm going to post em in "what is it".

Thanks for looking and enjoy the nice weather if you've got it.

Does that button say "Best & Co, New York"? My aunt worked there until it closed in 1971. It was over on 5th Ave.
