Hello everyone. True story!! I revisited a site today I called Button Hill. Stepped out of my car and walked to the top of button hill. I turned my detector on literally put the coil to the soil and made 2 swipes back and forth. ATpro let out a wonderful high tone at 6 inches. I dug the plug and flipped it back to have this beauty starring back at me..1841-O Seated Dime. My entire day was made on that first signal and first hole. Great Christmas Eve Eve. Zaxfire69

That is sweat! :headbang:

That is efficient use of time and energy, for sure. :) Did you make swipe #'s 3 and 4 and.......?
Find anything else, or did you call it a day with the one nice find?
Great find, and it will look nice, cleaned up.

IYou guys are right very efficient use of time and batteries. All in all I stayed about an hour and dug a lead poker chip, 3 flat buttons and square nails. Then to end the hunt I got to shoot a Barrett .50 cal. Good day for sure.

The O is tiny. I have an open bud variety. Don't know if that open bud matters, but it is an open bud for sure. I can tell by the second leaf on the wreath. It is above the U in United on my coin. Does that make for a special coin Canuck?

makes ya wonder how a signal like was missed on previous hunts :icon_scratch:
everything was perfect! ground conditions, angle etc. This hobby is amazing!
sweet coin dude! :headbang:

Sorry I meant you had a open bud, small O. I'm half asleep and posted it backwards. The Closed Bud is the rare one.

Thanks Canuck. Man I am stoked just to have dug this baby. Conditions were perfect. We had a flooding rain the last 2 days. Made digging great and signals pop. There are still alot of great signals left in there.

The AT-Pro just sings on those silver don't it. :angel8: Hope you using headphones and PRO mode and going very, very slowly.

Sweet Seated. A few years older you would of had a capped. Grats! :hello2:

I was thinking a capped bust when I dug it. The site dates back to at least 1812-1815 in that area. This is on the edge of the property. The house dates to the 1700's. We haven't even been detecting around it yet.

Very nice find zaxfire69! :hello2:
Any pics of it all cleaned up! :icon_scratch:

Congrats,
Dave

where you fishing or squirrel hunting with the 50 very nice seated by the way. merry christmas dave

@ Leenie..I was just shooting it. Never shot one before and it was the perfect day for it. Scope wasn't sighted in so I couldn't shoot to far. 700 grains flying through the air would make a real mess if it were to go stray. I am super excited about the good finds today.
