Went out Sunday late morning for a short hunt in someones yard down the road for 2 hours.
They had torn down a building and are going to blacktop over that spot today. I just hunted
the 30' by 50' area. Lots of Aluminium nails in the turned dirt and a few Strong Al.can type hits.
Dug some and got lucky on one to pull this 3" by 3" copper thin piece. Before cleaning I noticed
the one side was hinged, after the rinse I worked it open hoping to see a picture or paper inside
but to my surprise I could see the shape of a coin. My Heart stopped, OMG, I hope its an oldie.
Had to take pics and has it turned out it was only a lucky coin. Sometimes the good small coin
size signals aren't the best finds of the day! Also pulled 1 Mem, 61d Rosie and a silver plated spoon.
Red Ryder Lucky Coin. They were attached to fringed riding gloves sold by Penny's.

Yep, something nice inside! I see one of those tokens going for 25 bucks at an auction site and it looks dug also.

Good hunt!

I'd be happy with anything inside of a tine like that. Congrats on a sweet surprise.

Cool hunt Rich!!

That RR coin was probably some kid's prize possession at one time :'(
