Swingin' in the rain

Another detectin' day perforated by a deluge. That's what I like about the ATPro. It keeps going in the rain. I, however, tend to give up once I start treading water.



One of those Chinese coins. Couldn't garner a guess on age, but it looks like it's been around a while as it is worn quite thin.



Today's dredges...

A whizzer toy? This piece is quite heavy as it is made of lead. If it were a button, I think it would defeat the purpose.

LOOK [SEATED] IT IS SINGING IN THE RAIN WHILE YOU SWING IN THE RAIN BUT THAT IS , DETERMINATION , DEDICATION , FASCINATION , APPRECIATION AND LAST BUT LEAST RELAXATION.. THE CHINESE COINS ARE NEAT. About 3 hours. Hour diggin. Hour waiting. Hour diggin. Ground so saturated in places...got tired of pulling my feet out of the muck.

It can be a lot of work to positively ID an old Chinese coin, but it's fun. I found one a few years ago dating as far back as 1662! Here is a link that might help: http://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/china/china8.htm

It's the Shih Tsung variety from 1722-1735. You can tell by matching the bottom character. I found a slightly newer one that was made into a fishing weight once. Nice find!
