From the land of the Bluenose.....well the weekend really was a super one for this time of the year and the bare ground just too inviting. Got up early and laid the groundwork of breakfast in bed for Marie followed by a drive and a trip to Tim's where I popped the question every girl wants to hear, "What shall we do now dear?" With that coy look she gave me I knew the gig was up and she simply stated that she knew exactly what I wanted to do adding that she had nothing to do on such a nice day. Mentioned offhand that I have two Freedom 3 Plus detectors and she took the bait hook , line and sinker and as quick as a gull can swallow a herring we were at a local playground a swinging. What a beautiful site.....just what every man dreams of! His woman a swinging the mighty lean mean green digging machine!
I was in heaven swinging away merrily only having to stop every other moment to dig Marie's target. Her first time ever doing a land dig (has swished many a times)with her first target a loonie followed by a quarter and a dime. Managed a few pennies between digging up her targets.
Didn't want her to get dirty or break a nail.....ummmmmmmmmmmm that statement will get me in trouble big time. On the other hand was a fashion statement for the 2008 line of "Diggerware" for the discriminating detectorist in the field....outstanding by himself!
Was a tad on the cold side so after a dozen coins Marie adjourned to the car to listen to the radio and read "O" magazine which she put in the right place after reading....a dumpster. Before she went to Otto I asked for a little peck on the cheek..........."no your dirty!"
Lord love a duck didn't she know that that was the face that launched a thousand ships and dug more than 200,000 holes! Think in retrospect that it was my Niagara Nose a dripping that caused her to decline my offer of a smooch.
End result for the hour and a half dig was a combined total of 44 coins @ $5.47.
