Swirled Bowl (with raised swirl inside the bowl)

Clear glass, with blue striping, swirled bowl. The inside of the bowl has the raised swirl starting in the center and flowing outward. It is about 10 inches across and about 2.5 inches deep. What is it used for? What is it called?
