Detector(s) used
F75 LTD, 1280X Aquanaut, & a Patriot (back-up/loaner)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Went out today with a few door knocks on my mind. No one at home for 2 of them and the other was "come back tomorrow and talk to my husband". :BangHead: So I decided to go back to and old permission. I grabbed the LRP & ran (AM) all metal mode for the 1st 45 minutes and did not pull any good targets (beaver tails and trash). I switched to #4 mode. Ended up pulling a 1934 D Merc, :hello2: 2 wheats 52D & ?? date. Also pulled 6 memorials. Decided to go to another older permission. I ran the F75 in AM for a little then went to Boost. Only dug 3 deep pieces of lead. The day was young so I went to another lightly hunted permission. Started with the F75 and then went back to the LRP to gain more experience with this detector. Pulled a neat Deere compact and an old Ford part (wheel bearing cap?) along with an old razor handle. Hit 2 other locations briefly on the way home.

Nice finds!!!

Great job today. How deep was the silver dime? Wheaties?

Great job today. How deep was the silver dime? Wheaties?

Concerning the LRP

The dime was about 5 inches down under soil in a layer of gravel. Most targets were from 1 to 7 inches deep. Deepest target was a utility pipe about 1 foot deep when I was running all metal on the LRP.

The 3 pieces of lead found with the F75 were 8 to 10 inches deep. Dug all 3 using BP mode.

Still trying to get used to all metal mode on both detectors. The LRP is not as noisy as the F75 when running in all metal. I figure the F75 is detecting smaller ferrous targets than the LRP.

On the LRP I mainly use mode #4 , sensitivity 8 to 10 depending on the location and I had been discriminating out 1 through 29, but not today.

The F75, I normally run PF mode, discriminate out 1 thru 25, and 60 to 70 sensitivity, sometimes higher depending on the site.

I have been wanting to find a keeper with the LRP (had about 5 hrs on it prior to today) and finally succeeded in the 1st hour.

I do wish the BH and Fisher VDI's were the same, oh well, guess you can't have everything...
