tag unkown found by morris

well morris askedme to take this tag take a pic and post it here, hoping someone can help us i dentify his find..well here is the pic, also there are numbers verically next to the number 3 here they are..203468..any ideas folks??...gregg..HH

I found this Tag in the back yard of the OLD house. to me it looks to be a V.I.N. tag off a old car??

ok I had another person say it was from a telephone pole tag. asked a co-worker that has lived in the area all his life and is old enough to remember/owen a car in 1953 he said NOPE that is not for a car tag...he also said it looks to have came off a telephone pole tag..

Looks to me like an early way to validate the current year on a car license plate. You have to remember, they didn't have stickers back in 1953! I was there! JIM

Jim beat me to it. It looks like the replaceable year plate for a car license plate.

Thats exactly what it is. I have found many . The big numbers are the year. The little numbers are the id number for the tag, just like the new stickers. Look at your plates, there pretty much the same, just paper.

It's probably worth something now to someone who has a classic 1953 Automobile. But it would be worth more to me as a memory. JIM

I am not looking to sale it i am going to add it to my treasure box and when my boys get old enough to understand it ..i'll show it to them.. I never sale anything I find if it is worth keeping to show them the REAL History of life that is something not even BOOKS and MOVIES and show them.
