I spotted this while in the gas station today in the "take a penny" thingy beside the cash register. It's hard to believe it's been circulated for over 100 years now and also worth about 100x its face value. Keep your eyes open out there treasure hunters, even if you aren't digging in the dirt, you might still find something!

nice...way to spot a keeper!

Found a 1955 d today in the same place! Nice find!

It was my buddies turn to buy lunch so I walked across the street to subway and placed the order. When I was handed the change I looked down and saw it, 1943 war nickel. When I returned I told my buddy he was a lucky sob and handed him the change. He turns to me and says, I may be lucky but your dumb, I would gave switched it for a clad nickel and kept the 43. Great friend huh?

Great find! Thanks for sharing...

I look in the take a penny leave a penny jar at my local grocery store every week, and my best find has been a 1927 wheatie. I also find a lot of Canadian coins.

Nice save! That is in great shape! I'd need to use a 10X loop to "spot" that!

I do believe people are spending what they used to save, so the older coins are back in circulation.

Mr. MJ- no good deed goes unpunished!! Lol! Welcome to my world!

Make sure to check the Coinstar too, I have found many silvers, and an 1800's good luck token.

sweet! too bad it ain't a 'D'

Thanks guys! and I have heard that those coinstars kick out the silver. I'll keep my eyes open!

And if that was a D mint mark, I'd be taking $200 for free ha!

I always check, any give a penny take a penny.

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:
