So, lately Ive been doing a lot of "Bank strap hunting". Out of the 2000$ in one dollar notes Ive done since May 7th, Ive found several star notes, a few "pre 1993 series" bills that Ive kept, and one nice trinary with a no. of 04444022. I did do a box of nickels today and pulled two war nicks and a 37' D buff, (not a "3 legged" variety of course) but strap hunting has taken up the majority of my free time. Though CRH produces more than strap hunting, I cant deny that straps are easier to carry, theres no actual "dumping" and banks are much more willing to part with straps of ones than boxes of coin. I also bought the 2014 "red" book for American paper money today as well. If anything such as a silver cert or some super amazing serial number/error is found Ill inform you good folk of Tnet. As for now, have a nice night and keep stacking. :occasion14:

Before this box of nickels I hadn't picked up anything in 3 weeks. And even then I have a SINGLE pick up bank, I don't see how that ruins your experiences. I've been on the down low since last October but everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose.

both L/A mechanics savings seem to hate everything about CRHing.. i know use to use them.. thought maybe u went out on some bad blood lol

The one in Lewiston the head teller knows about silver and collectable bills (not because of me) and likes to keep things for herself. I actually reopened my account with them last month and was told I'd be able to pick up boxes weekly, but when dealing with a different teller I asked for a box and she was told by the actual manager that they won't give boxes to non business account holders. I can't even give that branch a few straps of ones I've gone through for simple hundreds because that head teller I mentioned knows I've looked through them and is giving me some BS about only being able to exchange 100$ at a time. Luckily for me she can't refuse me depositing the ones and using the ATM to go get more straps somewhere else hehehe. As for the one in Auburn I don't know what to tell you, I've never had a problem with them and don't get boxes there. Just loose halves and straps.

I've just tryed to get boxes but they give the run around... one of the other branchs was ordering me boxes before i had a account but its a 45 minute drive

From what I've been told by a few places in our area that I've tried getting boxes from, they said it used to not be a problem but some people were bringing full searched and rewrapped boxes right back the next day, so they can't do it anymore. I was told this by the Norway savings bank near the great falls TD, as well as a few other places. So, there ARE others in our area, doing it horribly wrong.

Just make sure to verify the weight :icon_thumright:
