Got into an interesting spot today and dug some earlier relics. Found a Tallio cuff link, a trigger guard and flat button. I think the trigger guard is off of a US model 1795 musket. What do you guys think? By the way, the spot I found these at was on a knoll overlooking a stream. The relics came out of the ground in great condition.

Trigger guard is a cool find.

Hi, wow nice old finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

That trigger guard is a style used in the Civil War. Maybe a Springfield 1863? It needs a positive ID. Great find! Gary

Thanks Gary, and after looking at pictures online, I think you’re right, I believe the trigger guard is off of an 1861 or 63 rifle.

Awesome finds. I really like the trigger guard. Congrats

Those are some really nice finds, especially the cufflinks.

Very nice finds! I was gonna say the trigger guard looked CW/mid 1800s style, but see other's have already chimed in. Congrats.

John

Here’s another picture of the cuff link.

hunter's cuff link, fox or dog

Yes, it’s a fox and from what I’ve read, it’s from the Colonial period. Tallio cufflinks have been found at George Washington’s boyhood home and Colonial Williamsburg. It’s for fox hunters and the Tallio is supposed to mean the same as Tally Ho.

that adds even more to the cool factor and the awesomeness. I'd have it in it's own little plaque for all to see

Amazing relics Well done!!!!!
