Even though it was freezing cold I still managed to get a “fatty” and two buttons a clay pipe fragment and a colonial capt America shield made of lead ? Buried deep any ideas ? Thats cool keep rippin into that spot is the old tavern still standing look under the floor or where some drunk loner would have gone and passed out and lost his pocket change lol Your doing really well there keep em coming my friend Tommy

There were 2 1700's taverns on my hunt club property and I can't seem to find them. Trying to overlay an 1825 map that shows them on it with new aerial photos with no luck. Congrats on the finds!

When I look for old homes I look for trees that seem out of place that may have been planted by the owner dont know about a taver but it would seem if you dug everything just to see the activity you might be able to find it that would be alot of fun to look

I love Indian Head pennies, especially old ones like that. Nice finds. Congrats!

the alleged tavern spot and area were cemented in the early 1900s for the animals and barn where they say the tavern was (writings from rev war he used it as temp headquarters ) isn’t where I’m finding the stuff it’s close but on the opposite side of 18 th century road here is a pic of the stone foundation of alleged tavern it was a barn u til the eighties when torn down the inside Is cement floor I believe and behind it are numerous rectangular cemented structures that were used as animal pens /shelters so I’d have to have concrete taken out which sucks cause there is so much history u see it I’m sure to the right is the old road and the. The open area where I find old keg tap n key buttons inc a rev war button coins horseshoes iron musket sling buckle shoe buckle n parts but there should be more it’s killing me no silver here yet either which is weird
F0D1F2C4-BB93-4334-A3B4-DEE943B4D5D9.webp the right side at top of photo was the tavern the rest of the right is all concrete the left is where I find everything and no concrete half the road in the picture (upper half ) is concrete under the dirt

Thanks for the pics theres silver there my friend maybe a gold coin I hope dig every signal sometimes that silver is deep and just gives a little blip you will find it Im sure that looks so cool to hunt Check around the trees in the area.

I found silver on the other side of other road all one big property but if the tavern were on this side there should be silver but I’ve been doing it many many times and haven’t found any just coppers 1739 on

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

I'm calling that Captain America shield a rosette.I'd love to find an old tavern site like that.

Thanks buddy I thought if that last night I don’t know why I didn’t think of it earlier I think the star threw me off I googled them didn’t find any like mine but I saw a good number with star designs would be neat to date mine thanks again

It might be a martingale accoutrement .. or a belt decoration ..or a ---?---, but it isn't a rosette.

Beautiful coin and nice relics! :occasion14:
