Hi all. I have just recently found this artifact page on Treasure Net and glad to see all your finds. I grew up on a boarder lake between Minnesota and South Dakota and have hunted arrow heads since I could walk. I have four brothers and this was a good activity to keep us busy for hours. Over the years our family has collected around 400 complete points hunting both fields and beaches. Although I have only read a few dozen posts I’m not sure if techniques have been brought up much. After I saw some of you were sifting dirt in fields as a way to find points I thought I would share a way that worked well for me. For beach hunting along lakes of rivers we used an old shovel that only had a foot left on the handle and about 4 inches of the tip ground off. After the beach was cherry picked we would wade in the water and paddle the water over the beach to create a wave affect until the beach would revile rocks of the right size. This worked many times. We would also use the shovel to pull up sand from the deeper water, toss it on the beach and repeat the process. I don’t know if this helps, but if you don’t have much beach this can help make it last longer.
Happy hunting,

Welcome
Sounds like a good idea. We are not allowed to dig on the river but maybe I can give the sandy areas a little water. We would enjoy seeing some of your arrowheads if you would like to share.
