I'm going to upload photos of various forms of Chalcedony from here in Johnson Co., Tennessee. I really enjoy these specimens and I have some interesting Jasper and dark brown Chalcedony specimens that are most unusual. Here are a few of the highly translucent grey, white, colorless and honey tones Enjoy.

Very nice-looking specimens! Thank you for that. Jasper rare your way?- or only that combination?

Hi bb, what are the ones in the second list? First one is blue?

Hey,

I missed your message. Are you talking about the first photo in the second post?

It is blue/grey and white Chalcedony. The blues here are very deep grey/blue; like a "gunship blue". The second photo in the second post displays some of the lighter blues that can be found. They are usually found in a mixture of Jasper like the one shown.

Yakker - Plenty of Jasper here if you know where to look.

Southeast Tennessee if full of it if you know where to look :) Might start with a map just a bit west of Chattanooga at a town called, of all things, "Jasper" :)

Dark blue Chalcedony nodule surrounded by a pale, creamy Jasper host. The blue nodule is covered in druzy crystals on one side.

Found a new spot that's producing blue/grey/white/olive/mustard colors and more. Photos 2 & 3 are a 20 lb. hunk that I'm going to have slabbed for cabochons. The last photo is VERY deep purple which leads me to believe that it's being colored by Manganese. Manganese ore is forming in the same ground.

This is the backside of the largest Agate nodule I've found here. It has a strange "chiseled" look. Another interesting feature is the large Calcite patch growing.

This is the first Agate I found in Johnson County. I've hand-polished it since these photos; I'll have to upload some.

Some of these look a little familiar- is it ok here on the forum to post a photo on someone else's thread? If not, I'll remove it! There are better photos of this kind of rock, can't seem to find them at the moment but have been trying to figure out what they might be? The chalcedony you posted, really pretty, looks like a little purple inside ' gold' colored, the March 23rd post, second row, second photo? Would someone mind looking, please?

Hi Antje!

No worries about hijacking the thread, lol. You have a good eye. The stone you are showing above resembles the one I posted on March 23rd. Looks like you may have some Jasper there as well. Are there any translucent spots in it? -Luke
