After talking to the kind folks at Tesoro, I sent my damaged used Sand Shark in for diagnosis & repair.
I was honest with them, and admitted that I was the second owner and had bought the unit used.
They received my detector on 6/24.
Repairs were made to a pot shaft extender, and they checked my entire machine including a water/pressure test.
They included spare coil hardware and 3 tubes of silicone lubricant for the O-ring.
Unit was shipped back to me on 6/30 and arrived today.
There was no charge, and in one of the two great notes included from the service manager was the following:
"Good luck making up for lost time in the water!"
They certainly did everything possible to keep my downtime to a minimum!
I am extremely impressed with both Tesoro and their Service Dept.
This will play a large factor in my future purchases.
