I have an old detector that i got when i was 14 or 15 i only used the machine a few times here and there in the backyard but since i have been on here and seeing other TNET users finds i decided today since the sun was out and the weather was a bit warmer that i would give the machine a try. I wasnt going to go anywhere just the front yard, well the second target i decided to dig the first being an old nail turned out to be what i believe is a gold plated bracelet! It might just be plated but man does it have me excited for the spring and the new machine i will be getting! I havnt cleaned it yet, just rinsed it off but the pic is below, HH

Aha! Bitten by the bug! Well, welcome to the hobby. When you get your new detector, don't get flustered. It'll probably take you all summer to learn to use it to the best of your- and it's- capabilities. And being in Michigan I'm sure your summers aren't any longer than mine!
Cheers & welcome aboard.

Thanks, i have heard some good things about the Ace 250 but i am new to the hobby so im really open to anyone's suggestions.

Welcome to TNET. Hope the bracelet is gold :icon_sunny: I have an ace 250 and I do just fine. If you budget isn't too big, then this would be a great starter. Just my input.

That's a good find, now it will become an obsession. The Ace250 is a great machine, easy to operate and lightweight. Don't forget you will need volume adjusting headphones, the machine doesn't have an adjustment. BTW, I grew up in Michigan, Macomb County.

Looks like gold to me lets hope it is let us know

If you're considering a new detector the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro packs the best bang for the money spent. JMHO

Cool find. You may want to adjust the date on your camera so nobody tries to nit pick your finds.

Are you seeing some areas of concern as far as it being plated ? Hows the weight ? Get it tested !

ATTN: 11 year old thread....

It sure looks pretty, what made you determine it was plated?

Great find looks gold
