For the first 1 hour we tried a new area where a small rectangular crop-marks showed up on the aerials. Blank. So we then moved back to where a few Roman Coins & the odd bit of Saxon came from & did a little better. I now have a theory, that the Roman Coins in this small Saxon Settlement where lost in that period & not the Roman, as all the evidence I'm finding including pottery is Saxon with no other evidence of Roman occupation.
Cru'Dad gridded for 3 Hours & I did just less than 5 Hours.
3 scrappies
Part of a plated Spur
1/2 a Medieval Swivel
1797 Penny
Saxon Gold Chip Carved piece (Probably part of a large high status Cruxiform Brooch)
Saxon Strap-end
Will III Sixpence
1/2 a Roman Debased Silver Ant. of Postumus. (Takes us to 30 this year!)
