Went on some very old park land this afternoon. The park used to belong to a country house that was built in the 17 th Century. I've searched this area for years now, and signals are scarce. In the roots of a willow tree though I found this bell like object. It is covered in a stars and cresent moon decoration. The white covering on it is the remains of enamel (purple). I think it's probably a candle snuffer, rather than a bell. Wonder how it got where it did.
