The site that yielded the 1921 chauffeur’s badge, wheats, tokens, and cosmetic compacts finally coughed up silver. This is extra special for me, because it was my first silver coin! It’s a little worn, and I’m told I’m lucky to have found one that actually shows a date. But, the site is even more interesting than the coin. I can’t decide if it was an old homestead, dump, or both. The number and variety of items has been mind-boggling. Even more interesting is the lesson that I’ve learned about intensively searching a site. You have to slow waaaay down and double, triple, and quadruple- sweep areas that you think you have already ‘hammered’. But I’m preaching to the choir here…let’s get busy with photos.
