Civilman and I hunt a small corn field on the boundary of
Antietam National Battlefield. We have been hunt it for
quite awhile. Some times we can go to the field and get
absolutely NO signals at all, as Hutch911 can attest to,
and then all of a sudden BAM,
We walk in and start finding right away!

This weekend was one of those BAM times. Not as much
as we get some times, but we will take anything we can
get from such a historical location!

If anyone has an idea on the iron piece on the top, post
away. It is definitely hand made and should look pretty
good after electrolysis.

Y'all have some great hunts!

By the way. This is the most perfect specimen
of a 58 caliber I have ever found.

Thanks! Would LOVE to find some fields like yours!!!

I'm thinking part of a horse bit Ty......

great looking relics..
the top piece looks like something that
wouldve been used to keep an oxe or
mule going in a straight line while
plowing the fields...

Good call, Joe, and thanks for the link.
You solved that one. Just seems a little
weird that the rings are gone completely.

Nice finds Ty-That is a nice dropped .58. Looks like it was just molded except for the nice patina. WTG and HH.

nice relics...

Great finds. The .58 looks great.
