The day of heartbreaks

I got permission to detect a yard on one of the oldest streets in my city this weekend. I dug two items that really let me down after I got them out of the hole. First was the gold plated signet ring. I have yet to score some gold this year and thought that this was the one. It was not to be as the ring ended up being I believe silver. There are very faint marks on the inside of the ring which I cannot make out. Second, the large casino token had me thinking I had found something good until I cleaned it off a bit. I had fun getting out there nonetheless. Happy hunting all.
